I am a wife, a mother of two boys, a small business owner and operator; and I am an artist.

I was born and raised in North Georgia, just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Highschool art class introduced me to the purpose and exhilaration of creation and self-expression. Life and love inserted a few gaps in my creative timeline over the years, but I always come back to art. The muscle memory of picking up a brush and applying paint for the first time after a sabbatical gives me a rush, as I feel all the pieces of my spiritual and cognitive puzzle fall back into place. Like seeing an old friend and picking up where you left off.

I love how watercolor moves, seemingly of its own accord. Watercolor doesn’t care what I want. It forges its own path, and I follow. It simultaneously blends and stands out. I outline my watercolors, to force the form and to bolden the likeness. I and my pen command the chaos.

My love of acrylics is more traditional. Paint and brush are intuitive.

I love textures and outside input, thus my affinity for mixed media. I often incorporate pastels, charcoal, graphite, sometimes crayons (never in short supply around here . . . ) or markers, random objects or pieces of paper find their way into the work. Beauty is everywhere, and I love repurposing with my art.

I hope my work brings some positivity to the world, but I’ll settle for the satisfaction of self-expression. Here you will find the creations of both a no-nonsense North Georgia chick running a business and a home, and thoughtful, brooding, creative mind that is sometimes dangerously objective about the universe around it.
